Variegated threads must be tested by customers for color fastness. This is especially true for designs that combine heavy shades of variegated threads with light or natural shades in the same fabric. These threads may have a poor resistance to bleaches and water contaminants such as chlorine and metal ions. For extremely dark variegated shades, customers are urged to run washing trials on their garments to insure that staining will not occur. Fabrics containing these threads should be labeled “wash in warm water using a detergent such as “Tide.” Wash colors separately. Do not use chlorine bleach. Tumble dry, gentle cycle. Dry clean for best results.
